Expand your Windows skills with the principles of Windows servers! The Windows Server installation and administration course is also intended for current administrators of "ordinary" Windows 10 who, after expanding their qualification, will work with a server daily, perform administration and technical support. You will take away new knowledge from the course even if you are already a Windows Server administrator, because we always use the latest version and show you its advantages.
Minimum input knowledge
Basic knowledge of Windows at least at the level of the Skilled Windows and Computer Network Administrator course. Especially knowledge of installing and setting the Windows operating system, control panel, folders, basic overview of the issue. Experience with administering any server is definitely not needed; we will show everything from the basics and always deal with the question "why?" If you need to expand the basics, we recommend completing the Skilled Windows and Computer Network Administrator course.

Introduction to the Issue, Installation
- installation of the Windows Server operating system; licensing options for specific usage models installation of the Windows operating system (demonstration computer of an "employee" that we add to the domain) installation of the Active Directory Domain Services server role - creating a company domain together with a DNS server (we will show why it is necessary to set it for domain purposes) working with Server Manager setting time, importance of NTP server under Windows Server working with the Active Directory Users and Computers console, gaining an overview of its options and use adding a Windows 10 computer to our domain creating domain users
Review of Basic Knowledge from Computer Networks
- working with the Network and Sharing Center control panel tools for solving network problems: ping, nslookup, ipconfig remote server administration - Remote Desktop and its pitfalls
File Systems, Disks
- disk management: difference between basic and dynamic disks, overview of partition types (simple, spanned, mirrored, striped and RAID-5)
Role-Based Sharing Strategies (Shared Resources and RBAC)
- sharing settings, setting access rights to a shared resource (e.g. folder, printer) setting conditions for access rights in the file system - difference between rights to shared resources and rights at file system level
Overview of Selected Tools for Windows Server Administrators from a Large Number of Tools
- working with Reliability and Performance Monitor backup - possible scenarios and best practices Windows Server Backup tool, setting scheduled backup basic overview of tools and settings in the control panel
Further Use of Windows Server
- overview of server roles - e.g. DHCP server - setting IP address assignment, Print server - setting a shared printer
Introduction to Group Policies
- Each course participant uses their own installation of Windows Server and Windows Pro in a virtual environment, has nothing prohibited and has the right to "mess up" their computers
Output knowledge
You will be able to independently install Windows Server, create a domain, solve basic operations, know its components and possibilities. You will gain an overview and inspiration about Windows Server possibilities
