About the camp

A meaningful programme for children who want to create

This summer camp will bring children not only the basics of programming, but also the joy of creating, discovering and building their own digital projects. Thanks to a gradual and playful approach, they will take away new knowledge, practical experience and their own creations that they can be proud of. Every young programmer also deserves a certificate, which we will give them after the camp ends. The day camp is intended for children aged 7 to 15.

A clear daily routine

The camp runs Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 16:00 in the Macrosoft training centre in Bratislava.

Balanced day programme

Computer-based learning is balanced with outdoor movement, lunches, snacks and an all-day drinks routine.

Scratch - Basics and Account Creation

  • During the camp, you will learn the basics of working with Scratch and find out how this environment works. You will create your own account, add characters and a background to the project and become familiar with character properties. You will learn to work with character costumes, change their appearance and bring a project to life using sounds. You will understand how individual project elements communicate with each other through sending messages, which allows creating more interesting and elaborate programs

Programming in Scratch

  • You will also become familiar with the basics of programming, thanks to which you will be able to create your own interactive projects. You will learn to use variables, conditions, loops that allow repetition of certain activities, and functions so that your programs work correctly and do exactly what you want.

Advanced Concepts for Game Creation

  • Later we will learn to program character control using keyboard arrows, create collisions between characters and respond to them in different ways. We will also try programming enemies or obstacles that will move in the game and create new challenges. We will create rules according to which the game determines victory or defeat.

Projects in Scratch

  • Children's own creation and imagination will also get a lot of space. They will design and draw their own character. Then they will create a simple animation, try creating a short film and gradually use their knowledge when creating their own game. Each project will teach them to think creatively, plan their procedure and solve tasks independently.
